Hello Jets,

As an English Language teacher, I believe language learning is more than vocabulary and grammar. Learning a language is a bridge to culture, identity, and connection. Language carries the stories, traditions, and values of a community, and it helps students expand their world.

In my Newcomer EL class, students learn English through content areas like math, social studies, and science. This helps beginner English learners grow their academic language and prepare for content classes. We also value and celebrate students' home languages and cultures while learning about and taking part in U.S. culture.

My goal is to support English Learners as they build confidence, develop academic language, and find pride in their own linguistic and cultural backgrounds. I’m excited to learn and grow with our students this year!
