I grew up outside of Florence where I later ran cross-country and served as an ambassador for the University of North Alabama.  Madison, however, has been my home since 2007.  I served as a seventh and eighth grade langauge arts instructor for twelve years and now as a guidance counselor at James Clemens.  Since joining Madison City, I have sponsored First Priority, worked with Student to Student, and as a former cross-country and track coach for mulitple years.  Working with students and their familes both in school and in my church has played a big role in my life in addition to spending time with my own family.  I look forward to meeting you and working with you.

Hello and welcome to James Clemens High School!  I will be your college and career resource.  This is my eighth year with Madison City Schools and I feel so fortunate to be a part of such a great team of people.  I have 31 years of experience, 9 of those as a fourth grade Language Arts teacher and 22 as a counselor.  As your child's College and Career Counselor, I will assist him or her in the college application process, financial aid, NCAA, scholarships, and career opportunities.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics (Human Development and Family Studies) from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts degree in Education (Counseling) from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin.  I am married to my high school sweetheart and have two wonderful children.  I love to travel, snow ski, and go camping.  I am partial to the Texas Tech Red Raiders during football season, but please don't hold that against me as I will do my very best to make this a wonderful year for you and your family!

Enrichment Counselor for Mental Health

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Athens State University Masters of Science in Community Counseling, McDaniel College Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of Mary G. Grimaud

Felicia Thompson

My name is Felicia Thompson. I am the Enrich and Impact Counselor.
The Enrichment Center places licensed therapists in schools to help students achieve and maintain optimum mental health. I've worked with the Enrichment Center since 2014. When I first started with the Enrich and Impact Program, I worked in the elementary, middle, and high school settings. Surprisingly, I found my sweet spot was working with high school students. I currently serve as the mental health therapist full-time at James Clemens.

My passion for the E& I program comes from a desire to pour into the lives of students; to encourage and empower them with the tools and skills they need to lead mentally healthy lives. I want to validate students' struggles and their feelings. My goal is to earn the right to speak into each student's life by building a relationship of trust with them.

I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. I left Huntsville in 2003 to attend graduate school in Maryland. I also lived in Atlanta, Georgia for several years before returning to Huntsville in 2014. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my girlfriends, watching old episodes of Gilmore Girls, Dallas, Beverly Hills 90210, and old movies on the Turner Classic Network.
