The 2023-2024 squad at UCA Camp in Auburn.

Your JCHS Basketball Cheerleading Squad is a year-round varsity cheerleading squad for the JCHS varsity boys and girls basketball teams. This squad cheers for every home and away game during the basketball season and travels with the team to area tournament, playoffs and championships. Each cheerleader is a representative of JCHS and held to a high standard as a student athlete. 

Any individual at JCHS (rising 9th - 12th) is welcome to tryout each late March or early April. Each cheerleader will be evaluated on character, skill, teamwork and more. The coaching staff looks for coachable individuals that make up a cohesive team. 

This squad is a year-round commitment running from April (tryouts) - March (the state championship game), including summer practices and camps. Our squad strives for excellence which is accomplished from each cheerleader giving 110% each time they arrive at practice or a game. The coaching staff strives to help each cheerleader reach their fullest potiental on and off the court.

NEWS:

This summer, the JCHS Basketball Cheer Squad attend its first UCA Camp at Auburn University. While they were there, they exceeded expectations are came home with the following

• 1st Place Overall - Large Varsity Camp Routine
• 3rd Place Overall - Large Varsity Game Day Routine
• 3rd Place Overall - Large Varsity Cheer
• 1 Gold Ribbon - Large Varsity Camp Routine
• 4 Superior Blue Ribbon Performances
• 5 All-American Cheerleaders
• Leadership Award (voted on by other teams as to which other team they would want to be on - which is ours!)
• Banana Award - Night Two (the highest daily award https://www.varsity.com/news/go-b-a-n-a-n-a-s-at-uca-camp/ ) 
• 1 Pin-It Forward Athlete (Serenity Pride was 1 of 4 selected on by the UCA staff as to who represents all that is good in the sport of cheer)
• Spirit Stick Award 3/3 days.
