About Best Buddies

  • Best Buddies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

    Through the simple acts of making friends, supporting work placement and integration, leadership trainings, and inclusive living, Best Buddies is the world’s only nonprofit committed to eradicating the social isolation of people with disabilities through programs that engage and include youth and adults with disabilities and their peers. Founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver, Best Buddies has grown to over 2,900 elementary school, middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide. Best Buddies programs engage participants in each of the 50 United States and over 50 countries around the world.

    Simply follow the instructions given on the application and when prompted fill in James Clemens High School as the school you are associated with. 

    We are looking for Associate Members as well as officers who are willing to serve on the Best Buddies Board.
