Shelby Treadway

Hello! My name is Shelby Treadway and I will be teaching Biology and Environmental Science. The 2024-2025 school year will be my first year teaching at JCHS.

I am from Anniston, AL and live in Madison with my husband, stepson, and our dog Sheena.
Teaching is my second career. I graduated from Auburn University (War Eagle!) with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management. I then worked as a biologist for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in Apalachicola and Panama City. I worked on research projects and habitat restoration projects primarily involving longleaf pine habitat. Some species of interest included red cockaded woodpecker, reticulated flatwoods salamander, and Florida black bear.
After discovering my love for environmental education, I began my Masters in Education (Secondary Education, Biology) at the University of West Alabama. I will graduate in December of this year!

In my spare time, you can find me hiking, reading, birding, gardening, or playing board games with my family. One fun fact about me is that I marched in Auburn University's Marching Band and served as our Flag Line's Co-Captain for one year.
I am looking forward to the upcoming year, and Go Jets!
