Model UN provides a platform for students to play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real-world problems with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. Students in Model UN will attend at least one conference per year, usually the first weekend in February. They will work alongside other delegates from across the south to solve real world issues.
Model UN is an academic club that is expected to meet once a week. Weekly meetings are held every Friday during Refuel in the glass room of upstairs A Pod. During meetings, students will gather research on countries and explore real world issues that they will solve.
Students are expected to stay committed to Model UN once joining. Expect to do about 2-3 hours of extra research a week outside of our meetings/practice, and also expect to have after-school practices once a week leading up to the conference. Another expectation is the financial responsibility of paying for travel expenses during our conference.
If you are interested in joining Model UN or have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Pierce in room A223 or at email@example.com.
