Welcome to Scholars Bowl!
We meet most Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:20-4:30 in Yellow Pod in Room 219 (we do not meet on half-days).
Who We Are: Scholars Bowl is open to any LMS student with any level of experience. We do have a Scholars Bowl class available, and many students participating on the Scholars Bowl competition team have taken either Scholars Bowl I, Scholars Bowl II, or both.
What We Do: From October to February, students will work together to learn, memorize, and verbally recite a wide variety of topics. Common topics include classical literature, monarchs, world geography, computational mathematics, mythology, world history, life science, physics, notable people, everything! Teams are made up of four students with up to two subs each. Competitions are typically held on Saturdays. Students will learn important academic and life skills, such as teamwork, organization, problem-solving, perseverance, communication, and professionalism. If our A Team makes it to State, they will compete in February. If our A Team qualifies for Nationals, they will compete in May.
When We Meet: 3:20-4:30 most Mondays and Wednesdays. I will communicate via email if practice is canceled for any reason.
Where We Meet: Yellow Pod 219
Communication: All students in either the Scholars Bowl I or II class will automatically be included in our email distribution list. If you are not in the class but would like to join the Scholars Bowl team, please email me so that I can add you to the list.

Fees: There is a fee that can be paid online or by cash/check to myself (made out to LMS Scholars Bowl) for each tournament. The amount depends on the tournament and will be shared well in advance if your student is invited to compete. Typical fees for invitationals in Alabama range from $15-50 per tournament. Fees for the National tournament are higher.
