Mrs. Robin McConnell

My name is Robin McConnell, and I am excited to be back with the Liberty Middle School family for my 11th year of teaching. I attended LMS for my own 7th and 8th grade years, so walking the halls again is like coming home.

After graduating from high school, I earned my BSBA in Marketing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I worked as the Marketing Director for a small furniture importing company but decided that was not where my heart was, so I returned to school when my oldest was 10 months old. Three babies later ( including a set of twins!), I earned my degree in Elementary Education. I taught Kindergarten my first year in Limestone County before moving to Madison County to teach 5th grade ELA. Six years ago I decided to transition to private school and have taught 5th and 6th grade ELA since then. I fell in love with my 6th grade classes and decided middle school was where I wanted to be, so I started the process to become certified through 8th grade ELA. I am thrilled to continue my journey with you here at LMS, and am looking forward to an amazing school year!

The week after I graduated from college (the first time), I married my college sweetheart whom I met during my freshman orientation. Together we have 4 children: a senior, twin sophomores, and a 7th grader. Between soccer teams, cross country meets, scout campouts, and softball games, we stay pretty busy. When I am not at school or being a soccer mom, I own a small woodworking company called Pond View Wood Works. I have always made things for myself, but at the beginning of the pandemic, I started getting requests for projects. My part-time hobby became a small business in 2021 and I enjoy the challenge of creating new things in my off-time. I also enjoy reading on my Kindle in my sunroom to unwind.
