Mrs. Jenny Bianchi Harvard

Hello! My name is Jenny Bianchi Harvard (also known as Mrs. Harvard or "Mrs. H.").
I am so excited to be teaching Theatre and Public Speaking at Liberty Middle School.

Although this is my first official year as a teacher in Madison City Schools, I had the privilege of serving as the long-term substitute in this very role last year—and I'm thrilled to be returning in a full-time capacity! I began my teaching career in 2007 at Decatur High School, where I taught AP and dual-enrollment U.S. History for two years. From there, I joined Calhoun Community College as a History instructor, serving for 4.5 years as an adjunct and three years as full-time faculty. Most recently, I worked as an Academic Advisor in the College of Science at UAH before stepping back into the classroom through substitute teaching.

No matter the setting, my passion has always been helping students grow—both academically and personally. One of the guiding principles in my classroom (and my life) is a simple mantra: "Leave things—and people—better than you found them." I don’t take a single day with my students for granted, and I believe in making each one count.

It is a JOY to be back in my own classroom, teaching subjects I love. Theatre and the arts have played a significant role in my life for as long as I can remember. From singing in church choirs and performing in summer camp skits to joining the chorus of Fiddler on the Roof at Grissom High School, I’ve always found joy on (and behind) the stage. During my time at the University of Montevallo, I was deeply involved in our College Night tradition—participating in the cast and chorus, costuming, production books, and more. As a parent, I’ve had the joy of supporting my own children in their elementary productions. Teaching middle school theatre feels like a natural next step, and I can’t wait to share this creative journey with our students. (Stay tuned—details about this year’s production are coming soon!)

My family and I live here in Madison, and we’re proud to be a part of the MCS community. We have three children, two of whom attend Liberty, and my husband teaches at James Clemens High School. It’s a gift to be in the building with my children and so many familiar faces—both at home and at work!

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, drawing, painting, singing, sewing, organizing, cooking, and, of course, watching movies and musicals.

I’m looking forward to a wonderful year. Go Lions!!
