Helping Hands
Who We Are: The purpose of Helping Hands is to involve non-disabled peers as peer mentors/tutors for the students in the Exceptional Learning Center. These students will be expected to assist the ELC students with morning work before school, eat lunch with the ELC students on occasion and participate in activities planned during the school year.
When We Meet: Before school, as well as specific field trips throughout the year
Where We Meet: Exceptional Learning Center (ELC) at Liberty, or the LMS Media Center
How to Become a Helping Hand: This organization is open to all LMS students (6th, 7th, and 8th graders). To become a Helping Hand, students must complete the following by August 30th, 2019: Sign and return the Helping Hands Permission Form, complete the online Required Registration Form found on our club page, and turn in $20.00 Club Fee, which includes a Helping Hands t-shirt. All checks must include a current phone number, driver's license number, and must be made out to LMS. Cash payments are welcome, but must be labeled with the student's first and last name. Please turn in all Permission Forms and Club Fees to Mrs. Mundie in room 250 in the Red Pod.
Want to get involved? Questions? Please contact Mrs. Mundie at mfmundie@madisoncity.k12.al.us for more information!
