2024 State Champions

23-24 Science Olympiad Team
  • For the 25-26 school year, Science Olympiad will only be offered as an after-school club.  There will not be a devoted class during the school day anymore.  Please check back in August to find out more information on joining the club after a new sponsor/coach has been decided.

What is Science Olympiad?  Science Olympiad is an international non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education and increasing student interest in science.   Liberty students have won Regional and State tournaments and have represented the state of Alabama at the National Tournament for the past 2 years.  We even had 2 students rank in the top 6 in 2 categories at the National level! soinc.org

What We Do:  Liberty's teams prepare for 23 different events pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.

Our teams will participate in 2-3 Invitational tournaments in the fall and winter before competing in the regional tournament.  The regional tournament is generally in February/March.  The top two teams at Regionals will qualify for the State Competition.  The State Competition is generally held at Auburn University at the end of March.

Who Can Join? All students grades 6-9.  It is a great place to explore new avenues in science and build relationships with fellow students who have a passion for science. There can be up to five 9th graders on the team.
