This is my first year teaching PE at Liberty Middle School. However, this is my 3rd year teaching in the Madison City School System. I attended East Limestone High School. I received my bachelors degree from Athens State University. Here at Liberty I have the opportunity to coach softball and football. If there are any questions regarding softball or football, please feel free to email me.

Hello! My name is Katie McCarley, and I am a 2nd grade teacher at Mill Creek. I played softball for 14 years. I played here at Liberty and James Clemens High School. I was part of the James Clemens softball team that made it to the state tournament for the first time in school history during my senior year! I am very excited about working with the softball team this year. Go Lions!

I am originally from Massachusetts, where I played softball all four years of high school. After graduating, I had the opportunity to coach at my alma mater for two years. When I began working in Lexington, I also served as the assistant coach for the JV softball team at the high school. I have always loved the game, but I have found that I love teaching and coaching it even more.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time at the beach (which is hard out here) and taking my dog, Skye, out for rides. This is my first year at Liberty Middle School, and I am an SLC Special Education Teacher. I am excited for the season and what it'll bring!
