I started my health career in 1990 with Huntsville Emergency Medical Services (HEMSI) as an EMT/Paramedic. I developed my love and respect for healthcare at that time and knew it was what I wanted to do. I graduated from nursing school in 1999 and went straight to the Emergency Room as an RN. I moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2000 so I could experience a large trauma center and went to work at Banner Good Samaritan in downtown Phoenix. The exposure to inner city emergency care was an eye-opening experience and solidified my love for emergency medicine. I became a flight nurse and flew both fixed wing and helicopter for 10 years, while I continued to work in various emergency rooms around the Phoenix area. I worked in large hospitals and small clinics on the Indian Reservation. Having this experience is such diverse health care settings helped me to grow into a seasoned ER nurse. 

     While in Arizona, I volunteered with a civilian Search and Rescue team. Our responsibility was to locate missing persons with the help of a K9 team. I became a K9 handler and worked with two Bloodhounds, Cletus and Virgil. We had some very successful missions together until their passing several years ago. 

     I met my wife, Paula, and step-daughter Klaudia in Arizona. Paula and I married in 2010. In 2016 we moved to Huntsville. For me, it was returning home. Paula is also a nurse and we spent several years travelling nursing together until 2018, when I accepted an ER manager position at Crestwood Hospital. I have been the Manager/Nurse Educator in the ER at Crestwood for the past 3 years. I accepted the position here at Bob Jones so I can teach and influence the next generation of health care professionals. I am so excited to teach and share my experience with students here at Bob Jones High School.

     In addition to my passion for healthcare, I am passionate about health and fitness. Paula and I owned a gym in Arizona. I am a USAW (USA weightlifting) certified Olympic Lifting coach and continue to compete in the sport of Olympic weightlifting. Paula, in addition to being a nurse, is an Esthetician and has her own skin care business. My daughter, Klaudia, has her Graduate degree from the University of Arizona and she lives in Tucson. We are huge marching band supporters. My wife marched Drum Corp as part of the color guard. My daughter also marched as a color guard member. She marched with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps out of Tempe Az until her age out year of 2018. 

     We love to travel with our Bloodhound, Dawson, and our two cats, Narcissa and Bellatrix. When we are not spending time with our animals or traveling, you will find us hanging out with our local Dodge Challenger car club cruising around north Alabama looking for good Mexican food!
