I am in my 8th year of teaching at Bob Jones, having gone back to school to pursue a masters degree after spending 20-plus years as a sports writer and sports editor in the newspaper field. I have taught World History, Early and Modern U.S. History, and AP European History.

I am also entering my 12th year as the Bob Jones boys tennis coach.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Paula, and we have three children. Katie played collegiate tennis at Young Harris and UAH and is an English teacher here at Bob Jones. She also coaches the BJ girls tennis team and we teach an integrated AP Lang/Honors History class together. Will ran track and cross country for UAH and is currently a PT in Utah. Maggie just graduated from University of Alabama and has worked abroad in Colombia and Costa Rica.

We also have an out-of-control Lab named Bobo, who chases shadows and thinks she's a cat, and an actual cat named Measles (don't ask). We also have an outside stray cat named Oscar, who is way cooler than Measles and the dog.

Teaching is the most fun I've ever had in my life, and it is my hope that my students see that on a daily basis. Please know that I have your child's best interest at heart, and I am always here to answer any questions or concerns you may have during the year.
