Ms. Donna McCarley

Welcome to Bob Jones! My name is Donna McCarley. I teach Math Modeling and Algebra 2.

I have been teaching math in north Alabama since receiving my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education (6-12) from the University of North Alabama in 2002. During this time, I have taught all levels of math. My most recent experiences include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Career Math.

I continued my education by earning a Master’s of Science in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University in 2014. Five years later, I completed my Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University as well. I have also completed additional training courses in Google applications and Flipped Learning to help bring new innovative ideas to my classroom.

I believe that learning is a lifelong adventure. Our lives are full of opportunities to learn. Often these opportunities are disguised as challenges. In math class, these challenges may be in the form of a difficult topic or a mistake in a problem. These challenges offer us the opportunity to learn and grow. My goal is to teach my students how to accept the challenges they face, both in math class and in life, and view them as opportunities to grow as a person.
