Greetings! My name is Leah Faris and I teach Advanced Placement United States History and Advanced Placement Human Geography. I have taught at Bob Jones for over 20 years! My education experience ranges from private to public education. I have taught just about every Social Studies course offered!

I attended Oxford High School (Oxford, AL) and graduated in 1994. In 1997, I received my Bachelor’s from Jacksonville State University with a major in History and minor in English and General Science. I received my Master’s Degree (History) and teaching certificate from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. While in college, I was a member of numerous academic honor societies, such as Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Alpha Theta, and Kappa Delta Pi. In 2008, I obtained my National Board Certification. Currently, I am a member of the American Historical Society, Southern Historical Society, and the National Council for Geographic Education.

My husband and I are residents of Madison and love being part of this community. We are the proud parents of Jack and Lily. Jack is a graduate of Bob Jones High School and Lily attends Discovery Middle School. I love reading, traveling, and genealogy research.
