Mrs. Leah Faris
Greetings! My name is Leah Faris, and I teach Advanced Placement United States History and Advanced Placement Human Geography at Bob Jones High School. I have been teaching at Bob Jones for more than 20 years, with experience in both private and public education. Over the course of my career, I have taught nearly every social studies course offered.
I graduated from Oxford High School in Oxford, Alabama, in 1994. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University in 1997, majoring in History with minors in English and General Science. I later received my Master’s degree in History, along with my teaching certificate, from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. During college, I was honored to be a member of several academic honor societies, including Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Alpha Theta, and Kappa Delta Pi. In 2008, I earned National Board Certification. I am also an active member of professional organizations such as the American Historical Association, Southern Historical Association, and the National Council for Geographic Education.
My husband and I are proud residents of Madison and truly enjoy being part of this wonderful community. We have two children, Jack and Lily. Jack is a graduate of Bob Jones High School, and Lily is currently a Patriot. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, traveling, and researching genealogy.
