    Order/Pay for your Cap and Gown

    • Cap and Gowns are ordered directly from JDR Grad.  Please order and pay by April 15th 

    • Click HERE to order and pay for the Cap and Gown.  

    • Cost is $100 and will be paid directly to JDR Grad. 

    • If there are any financial issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at bvandam@madisoncity.k12.al.us. There are programs designed to help with the cost of cap and gown. 

    • Formal graduation invitations may also be ordered through JDR Grad on their Bob Jones Page

    • Mrs. Van Dam has no information on whether you have paid.  Please contact JDR Grad Supplies at 205-733-1060 or JDRGradsupplies@gmail.com

     

    Pick Up Your Cap and Gown

    • Cap and Gown Distribution will begin on Wednesday, April 15th in the library

    • You must have completed the following in order to receive your cap and gown

      • Payment made directly to JDR Grade using this link https://jdrgrad.com/collections/bob-jones

      • Complete the Required Graduation survey sent out by Dr. Bostick.  Instructions and the link are listed below.

      • Complete the FAFSA Application or Waiver.  More information is listed below.

     

    Complete the Required Graduation Survey created by Dr. Bostick

    • Watch the video created by Dr. Bostick on how to complete the Required Senior Graduation Survey by clicking HERE. (note: this video is from a previous year but the information is still the same)

    • Click  HERE to complete the survey. It takes less than five minutes.    

    • You will not be able to pick up your cap and gown until you do. 

    • This information is used for the graduation program as well as Senior Celebration night. 

    • If you already completed the survey, but something has changed you need to contact Dr. Bostick. 

     

    Complete FAFSA Application or Waiver

    • The Alabama State Department of Education is requiring all seniors to complete the FAFSA as a graduation requirement

    • Click HERE to complete the FAFSA application

    • All students whether they have completed the FAFSA or not should complete the waiver.  Click HERE to print and complete the waiver.  Printed waivers are available in the College and Career Center. 

    • The waiver must be turned into Dr. Bostick in the College/Career Center. 

    Plan for Senior Celebration Night Thursday, May 14th - Crosspointe Church, 5:30 p.m.

    • You will not be recognized if you do not complete the Required Graduation Survey posted above ↑

    • Academic and sports scholarships/awards as well as Military Enlistments and  Workforce Awards will be presented

    • Families are invited to attend.  Reception to follow.

     

    Record and upload the pronunciation of your name. 

    • Click HERE to complete a form and upload the correct pronunciation of your name. 

    • Mr. Van Dorn in Counseling and Mrs. Torian in S117 will be calling out the names for graduation. I do not know yet which person will say your name. 

    • We will practice names the morning of graduation, but sometimes mistakes happen when you have the added pressure of being in front of 6,000 people.  Do not wait until the last minute to work on the pronunciation of your name. 

    • If you have a name that is often mispronounced, fill out the form and record yourself saying your name.  You can use whatever voice recording app you have on your phone or computer.

    • The deadline to submit slides is Friday, April 24th

    • Individual pictures are not accepted.  They must be on a powerpoint or google slide.  

    • Please do not send them as a PDF

    • The Senior Slideshow will be presented after the senior breakfast on Friday, May 1st.

    • You must have completed and passed all the following: 3 AP classes, Algebra 2 w/Statistics, and two consecutive foreign language courses.  

    • If you are not listed and you think you qualify, please reach out to your counselor.  

    • Counselors are each in charge of over 400 students each.  Mistakes can happen which is why the list is sent out early.  If you feel you were left off in error, please let your counselor know.  

    • If you qualify, graduation cords will be on sale for $5 in the library starting Monday, April 14th

    • You must purchase these by the end of the day on May 15th.  I WILL NOT bring them to graduation practice on the 18th.

    • This list will not have any names added until Friday, May 15th.

    • Any student graduating with a 4.0 or above will receive a white tassel 

    • These will be available at the front desk starting Friday, May 15th and brought to graduation practice on 5/18

     

    Take the Mandatory Civics Test by Thursday, April 30th. 

    • ALL SENIORS must take and score at least a 60

    • If you took or are taking Government in a face to face class at Bob Jones this year, then you have taken or will take the Civics exam in class.  The deadline does not apply to you since you will take it in class. 

    • The test does have a password and you must take it in the media center. 

    • Join the Schoology course using this code: JQD7-TSX4-MXV2J if you took Government one of the following ways:

      • ONLINE

      • DURING SUMMER SCHOOL, 

      • AT ANOTHER SCHOOL, 

      • LITERALLY any other way except face to face at Bob Jones

     

    Click HERE to complete the form if you plan to participate in the Senior Stroll. Dates are listed below. You must be logged into a MCS account to access. Deadline to complete is April 20th

    If you attended St. John, their Senior Stroll will be Thursday, May 14th.  Time is TBD. 

    Check PowerSchool to see if you owe the cafeteria. 

    • If using the app, it will only show a final total.  

    • If you log in from a computer, look for the gold coin on the left hand side. This will show the fee statement with individual items.  

    Check your lunch account to see if you have a credit balance.  

    • If you do, you are entitled to a refund of that credit.  Click HERE and follow the instructions provided. 

     

    Check My School Bucks to see if you owe any class fees. These must be paid before graduation. 

     

    Return your Chromebook

    • Chromebooks will be taken up on Friday, May 8th during a special advisory.

    • If you are not present during the advisory that day, please return it to the library. 

    • If you were a mid-year graduate, please bring your Chromebook and charger back to the library IMMEDIATELY. 

    Pick up Graduation Tickets

    • Graduation tickets will be given out during a morning Advisory on Friday, May 9th.  If you are a mid-year graduate, you may pick up your tickets at the front desk starting the same day. 

    • Each graduate will receive 11 tickets. Students will need to verify the number of tickets and sign for them during Advisory

    • Graduation is treated like any other event at the VBC, so they do require everyone entering to have a ticket. You will not need a ticket for babies. 

    • The school does not facilitate giving extra tickets to students.  Each student receives 11.  If you need extra tickets please reach out to fellow classmates. 

     

    Order Graduation Gift Bouquets (Obviously not required, but a service that is being offered this year)

    • As part of a fundraiser for the senior class, we have partnered with a company called Commencement Group that will be set up outside the VBC before the ceremony. Flowers and other gifts will be available for sale and pre-order pick-up.

    • BJHS will receive 25% of all pre-orders and 15% of all on site order to help with general graduation expenses.

    Request your final transcript using the online system by clicking HERE

    • Do not order final transcripts before June 1, 2025.  

    • Even though graduation has already happened, you must choose CURRENT STUDENT

    • Instructions on how to order a final transcript are printed on the envelope containing your diploma and also on the link above. 

    • This process is the only way the school will send your final transcript out.  Do not email the registrar or the school.  You must follow the instructions.

    • Thursday, April 30th - Must have passed the Civics Test. This does not apply if you are taking Government in the last nine weeks face to face. 

    • Friday, May 1st

      • Senior Breakfast for all seniors - 9:30 am

      • Senior Trip to Six Flags - buses will depart at 1:00 pm and return the next morning around 6:00 am.

    • Friday, May 8th

      • Chromebook Turn-In during Advisory

      • Graduation Tickets (11) given out during Advisory

    • Wednesday, May 13th - 3rd and 4th block Senior Exams during those blocks.

    • Thursday, May 14th - 1st and 2nd block Senior Exams during those blocks.  Seniors depart the building after 2nd block. 

    • Thursday, May 14th - Senior Celebration Night @Crosspointe Church, 5:30 pm. 

    • Friday, May 15th - Seniors do not report to school 

    • Monday, May 18th

      • Mandatory Graduation Practice - 10:30 a.m. - VBC Arena (you do not need cap/gown for practice)

      • Report back for Lineup - East Hall - 5:00 p.m.

      • Ceremony - 6:00 p.m. - VBC Arena. Doors will open at 5:00 pm
