Mrs. Adaira Torian

Hello everyone,

This will be my first year at BJHS and my 5th year of teaching. I am originally from Smyrna, TN and I lived in Murfreesboro, TN before moving to Madison towards the end of May 2025. I played basketball and softball growing up, and I always had a love of learning. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher because I wanted to create the same safe space that so many educators created for me.

When I was in high school, I discovered my love for English and Spanish. I found it so fascinating how different writers communicated through storytelling to share the good and bad of the time period they were in. I went on to earn my B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish and Secondary Ed. at Middle Tennessee State University and a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction at Western Governors University.

I married my best friend in February 2025, Jaquez. We love to go on walks, go to the gym, and try new restaurants. We have a 2.5-year-old English Springer Spaniel, Pax, who is very loved and very spoiled! My husband and I love socializing him with other dogs and taking him to various walking trails.

I cannot wait to connect with my students this year! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
