Greetings! My name is Leah Faris and I teach Advanced Placement United States History and Advanced Placement Human Geography. I have taught at Bob Jones for over 20 years! My education experience ranges from private to public education. I have taught just about every Social Studies course offered!

I attended Oxford High School (Oxford, AL) and graduated in 1994. In 1997, I received my Bachelor’s from Jacksonville State University with a major in History and minor in English and General Science. I received my Master’s Degree (History) and teaching certificate from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. While in college, I was a member of numerous academic honor societies, such as Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Alpha Theta, and Kappa Delta Pi. In 2008, I obtained my National Board Certification. Currently, I am a member of the American Historical Society, Southern Historical Society, and the National Council for Geographic Education.

My husband and I are residents of Madison and love being part of this community. We are the proud parents of Jack and Lily Cate, and they attend Bob Jones High School and Discovery Middle School. I love reading, traveling, physical fitness, and genealogy research.
