Education

Mrs. Cooper attended Calhoun Community College on a softball scholarship. She then transferred to Athens State University and earned a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics with a minor in Education. Mrs. Cooper is a National Board Certified Teacher as of December 2019. In 2021, she earned a Masters in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama.

Experience 

Mrs. Cooper conducted her teaching internship at Discovery Middle School from August - December 2015. She was then hired as a full-time teacher in Janurary 2016 in the Mathematics department at Discovery. She sponsors FCA and teaches Math 8 Accelerated, AVID, and Math 8. She currently serves as the Math Department Chair.

Biography

Mrs. Cooper attended a small high school on the Alabama/Tennessee state line called Ardmore. She played volleyball and softball there, where she was part of the first 4A Fastpitch State Championship for that school. She went on to play college softball at Calhoun and marry her high school sweetheart, Jonathan. She currently has two children, Rhett and Colton. She loves them and can't wait to see what's in store next!
