Hello, Jaguars! My name is Julia Day, and I am so honored to be a part of the Journey Middle School team. I am originally from small town, Fayette, Alabama, and am a graduate of the University of Alabama where I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Secondary Education, English Language Arts. I will be teaching 6th grade ELA and serving as the JMS Dance Team coach this upcoming school year!

 

I have fallen in love with the city of Madison and all that it has to offer. My husband, Matt, is a Bob Jones High School graduate, so he has introduced me to this beautiful, welcoming community. I am so thankful for the opportunity to live here!

 

As I step into the classroom each year, I value creating an encouraging, supportive, and nurturing experience that promotes creativity alongside student effort and success. It is my hope that students will encounter growth in their reading and writing skills as we learn alongside one another. I look forward to a wonderful school year, Journey Jags!
