Mrs. Amy Eggart
Greetings to all of our Journey Jaguar families! I am so excited about returning next year to assist with opening Journey Middle School within Madison City Schools. The Journey learning community is already taking shape and I have enjoyed getting know some of our families and their students! I have assisted with opening two other new schools throughout my teaching career and I really enjoy the challenges and the perks of coming together as a new unified group!
I have had the pleasure of teaching in five different states and teaching children from all over the world! I welcome the richness that learning from each other, both culturally and academically, brings to the educational experience! I have been in education since 1992 and my experience ranges from special education inclusion and homebound instruction to differentiation specialist at the middle school level, Pre-K through Fifth Grade general education teacher, Title One instructor, "Looping" and full collaborative instructor, and gifted education and middle school English Language Arts teacher, as well. I value my position as team lead for the inclusion team at Journey Middle School. I feel that I will be able to utilize all of my previous experiences through this collaborative position! Partnering with my team, our students, and their families, in order to have a successful year, is one of my top priorities!
My husband and I moved to Alabama from Williamsburg, Virginia six years ago! We have three children; one is a rising senior at James Clemens High School, and the other two attend college. We love calling northern Alabama our home! You will find us attending Journey, James Clemens', and University of Alabama sporting events during the week and walking our American Foxhound, Hank, on the weekends around our neighborhood lake!
It was so great to meet our new Journey students during our Jungle Trek school tours this spring! I already feel a sense of Jaguar Pride growing in our Journey learning community! If you see me out and about in Madison, this summer, give me a wave and I'll wave back! Have a fun and safe summer! See you in August! Go Jags!
