Hi, Jaguar family! My name is Caitlin Nicholson, and I am one of Journey's Collaborative Special Education teachers!

 

I am originally from Scottsboro, Alabama. I am the youngest of three, an aunt to two nephews and one niece, and a dog mama to a sweet Cavalier King Charles named Louie! I attended Auburn University (War Eagle!) and graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor of Science in Collaborative Special Education (K-12). 

 

This will be my 12th school year teaching, and my second year with Madison City Schools, and I can not wait for another school year! My first ten years of teaching were in middle school/high school grades in Birmingham City Schools, in both self-contained and resource/inclusion settings. This is my second year that I will be serving as co-lead of the special education department here at Journey Middle School and I am thrilled to be able to continue to help lead our team. 

 

Aside from teaching, I have a huge family and friends group with which I love spending time. I also enjoy reading books, traveling, cooking, attending concerts, spending time on the lake, and watching Auburn sports!
