Hi, Jaguar family! My name is Caitlin Nicholson, and I am so excited to join Journey Middle School this year! 

 

I recently moved to Huntsville from Birmingham, but I am originally from Scottsboro, Alabama! I am the youngest of three, an aunt to two nephews and one niece, and a dog mama to a sweet Cavalier King Charles named Louie! I attended Auburn University (War Eagle!) and graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor of Science in Collaborative Special Education (K-12). 

 

This will be my 11th school year teaching, but my first year with Madison City Schools, and I can not wait for another school year! My previous ten years of teaching have been in middle school/high school grades in Birmingham City Schools, in both self-contained and resource/inclusion settings. This year I am a co-lead of the special education department here at Journey Middle School and I am thrilled to be able to help lead our team. 

 

Aside from teaching, I have a huge family and friends group with which I love spending time. I also enjoy reading books, traveling, cooking, spending time on the lake, and watching Auburn football!
