Welcome to my teacher page, Journey Jaguars! In addition to teaching Honors ELA 8 and ELA 8, I am the English Language Arts Department Lead and the Student Government Association Sponsor. 

Prior to teaching, I served in the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician, Petty Officer Third Class. I hail from York, PA and have a bachelors degree in Secondary Education/English and a masters degree in Educational Leadership. Before relocating to Madison City Schools, I taught 7th grade ELA at Spring Grove Area Middle School in Spring Grove, PA.  In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, reading, writing, spending time with my family and pets. I am the proud parent of a high school senior, a sixth grader, and three-year-old twin girls. 

I love watching students grow as readers and writers. Every child is a reader--they just haven't found the right book. The same holds true for writing. Over the course of the school year, students will have ample opportunities to enter writing contests and read challenging texts!
