Hello! My name is Abby Patterson, and I am excited to be your English teacher. I grew up in Madison and am thrilled to join the Madison City Schools team. I graduated from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) with my Bachelor's degree in Public Relations. While in that program, I fell in love with the study of language and communication and knew that I wanted to share that passion with others. That led me to continue my studies at UA and earn a Master’s in Secondary Education, English Language Arts.

In my free time, I usually work through an endless “to-be-read list,” crocheting stuffed animals or training my dog, Brody. Now, Brody can roll over, turn around, and play hide and seek! I am also a huge fan of Broadway plays and theatrical performances. I strive to create a classroom environment where students can explore the power of words, express themselves creatively, and develop critical thinking skills through literature and writing. I aim to foster a love of reading and writing in my students and help them find their voice to communicate effectively in the world around them. I am excited about beginning this school year. Go Jags!
