English Language Arts Teacher

Education

Mrs. Williams holds a Master of Learning, Design, and Technology, as well as a Master of Secondary English Language Arts, from The University of West Alabama.

Experience

After completing her internship in an 8th-grade classroom at Discovery Middle School in 2022, Mrs. Williams began her teaching career in the 6th-grade English Language Arts department at DMS. Although she is relatively new to the classroom, Mrs. Williams has over ten years of experience working with students. She started her teaching journey by supporting struggling readers and spent several years as an Adult Education Instructor at Calhoun Community College, where she helped students pass the GED exam. Additionally, Mrs. Williams has taken on the role of the DMS Competition Cheer Coach, where she is eager to lead and inspire the team to new heights.

Biography

In 2015, Mrs. Williams relocated to Alabama from Greenville, South Carolina. She has a stepson who is an 8th grader at DMS this year, as well as two college-age children: a son attending UAH and a daughter at The University of Alabama.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, reading, and relaxing by the pool.
