Education

Ms. Beavers attended Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee where she earned a bachelor's degree in American Studies. She earned her master's degree in Secondary Education (6-12) from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Her original certification is in Social Science. She has since become highly qualified to teach English Language Arts as well. She received AP World History certification in June of 2017.

 Experience

Ms. Beavers began her teaching career in Gadsden, Alabama at Litchfield Middle School where she taught 8th Grade World History and 7th Grade Geography/Civics. She then taught Global Perspectives, Pre-IB (International Baccalaureate) 9th, and IB 11th & 12th History of the Americas at Daphne High School in Daphne, Alabama. She is currently beginning her 9th year at Discovery Middle School teaching Pre-AP World History and World History to 1500.

 Biography

Ms. Beavers is a native of Gadsden, Alabama. A National Merit Scholar, she graduated from Gadsden High School many years ago. She is the proud owner of one adorable mini-panther, Fannie Lou. The only thing she loves more than history and cats is teaching middle school students!
