Mrs. Wendy Tibbs
I am a National Board Certified Teacher, have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Arkansas State University, and a Master of Arts in Special Education (Gifted) degree from University of Alabama. I have attended Confratute, at the University of Connecticut, as well as the Alabama (AAGC) and National Association of Gifted Children (NAGC) annual conferences. I am a member of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education. Prior to moving to Madison 1993, I taught first grade in Missouri, second grade in Arkansas, third grade in Tennessee and a fourth-fifth grade split class in Kentucky. I also taught third grade at West Madison. These experiences really helped me when I began teaching all levels of gifted classes.
I really enjoy taking classes and learning about new things, so I am always up for whatever new topic my students want to explore!
I arrived at West Madison in 1995, and have seen many improvements to our program over those years. Our gifted program is interest-based, and students meet in small groups to explore various topics that intrigue them. We welcome community members to come in and share their passions with us! If you have a special interest and would like to present it to our students, please contact me at email@example.com
