Mrs. Kimberly Kerr

My name is Kimberly Kerr, and I am one of the EL teachers at Midtown.  I began my teaching career in Jefferson County Schools in Birmingham, AL.  I was a kindergarten teacher for 11 years and an ESL teacher for three years.  I moved to Madison, AL, during the peak of COVID-19 to be closer to my family and husband.  I taught 1st grade for four years at Mill Creek Elementary.  My husband and I have a three-year-old son, a baby girl, and a Yorkie named Bailey.  I enjoy reading, working out, shopping for home decorative items, and spending time with family and friends in my spare time.

This will be my 19th year as a teacher, and I'm extremely excited to teach at Midtown Elementary!  This is my fifth year teaching in Madison City Schools.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Elementary Education in May 2006 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  In 2015, I received my Master's degree in English as a Second Language from UAB.

I look forward to applying the knowledge acquired through my studies and classroom experiences to enhance your child's education.

Thank you for entrusting your child to me and Midtown Elementary School.
