Welcome to 2nd grade!

My name is Abby Cantrell and I am thrilled to be teaching 2nd grade at Midtown. I am from Hazel Green, AL, so I have lived in this area my entire life!  Following my graduation from Hazel Green High School in 2017, I moved to Florence, Alabama, where I attended the University of North Alabama. I graduated from UNA with both my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Elementary Education. 

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling to the beach and lake, eating sweet treats, exercising, and shopping! My favorite restaurant is Rosie's and I am a huge Starbucks iced coffee lover!

My favorite part about teaching is that I get to learn alongside my students each day. My goal as an educator is to always be intentional and do whatever I can to help my students grow, not just academically, but socially, emotionally, and behaviorally, too! I am so excited about this school year! Go Wildcats!
