I am excited for a great year of learning at Journey Middle School!  This year, I will be teaching Math 6 and Math 7, as well as supporting our students in the National Junior Honor Society.  I grew up in Naperville, Illinois and I am a huge Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs fan.  In 2020, I moved down south to Huntsville and I have loved exploring the area!  This past summer, I married my husband, Ben.  We have a shih-poo puppy named Oreo and we love to go on walks with him or take him to downtown Huntsville.  In my freetime, I love to read, bake, play clarinet, and travel.  I have been to countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia - most recently, I went to Japan this past July!

 

I attended Michigan State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 2017 and later a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in technology and learning in 2021.  This will be my sixth year of teaching.  I have previously taught 4th and 5th grade in Huntsville and Chicago, IL.

I look forward to supporting each of my student's academic and social-emotional growth this year in our math classroom.  My goal is to encourage my students to embrace how important and powerful knowledge is in their lives.  As we progress in our math learning this year, my students will rise through challenges and continue to grow in their critical thinking skills.  Let's have a great year, Jaguars!
