Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers,

     I am approaching this school year with great excitement!! I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with exciting and challenging learning experiences. Your child's happiness is very important to me because his or her success is built upon happiness.

      Let me start by introducing myself to you. I live here in Huntsville with my husband of twenty-seven years and our two children. After completing my Bachelor's in Secondary Education, I taught High School for three years. I graduated with my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Athens State University. I graduated with a Masters in Education--Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix.

     This is my twenty-first year working at Madison City Schools. The first fourteen were at Heritage Elementary School, and the next five years were at Liberty Middle School, MCS. I have taught 5th grade for 2 years, and 6th grade for 16 years. Before that, for two years, I worked with EL students as well as with fourth and fifth grade students at Heritage Elementary School, MCS. I have coached the 6th Grade Math Team for 10 years at Heritage Elementary School...and absolutely loved teaching the Math Team at LMS too. This will be my 2nd year coaching the 6th and 7th grade Math Teams at JMS.

     I completed my National Certificate for STEM Teaching and am an NCST graduate too! I am so excited to be beginning my 21st year at Madison City Schools at Journey Middle School!!!!!
