Welcome to Madison City Schools!
We are excited that you are joining Madison City Schools! As a new family, we know you may have questions about how to get enrolled, prepare for the upcoming school year, and discover the many opportunities available to your child. We’re happy you’re here and look forward to an enriching educational partnership. All registration for Madison City Schools is done exclusively online by the legal parent/legal guardian. (Use the link at the bottom of the page to access the online enrollment page.) For specific details on enrollment requirements, refer to the 2026-2027 Enrollment Requirements on the left side of this page.
Madison City Schools welcome all students who live within the district's boundaries and meet state age and health requirements. For specific enrollment information, please contact your Central Office at 256-464-8370. If you need to find out which school your child will attend, please use the School Locator to look up the attendance boundaries for your address.
Kindergarten Eligibility
If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026*, they are eligible to attend Kindergarten for the 2025–2026 school year. Important: If your child was enrolled in a Madison City Schools Pre-K classroom at the end of the 2024-2025 school year, do not use the links below. Instead, please register as a Returning Student when you receive the email regarding returning students.
State law requires that students are to be 6 on or before December 31st of the current school year, to enroll in first grade.
*An opinion of the Attorney General states in effect that under the common law one’s age is computed by including the day of birth so that a given age is attained the day before the birthday anniversary.
Before You Begin
To complete the online registration, you will need to upload several documents. Enrollment cannot be processed until all required documents are submitted and approved.
Documents Required for Registration (to be uploaded during online registration)
- Birth Certificate
- Alabama Immunization Record
- Photo ID of enrolling parent/ legal guardian
- Custody Documentation (if applicable)
- Transcript or Most Recent Report Card
- Proof of Residency:
- Own - Submit current property tax receipt or deed in your name for the residence along with a current utility bill or receipt for start of service for gas, water, or electric service... NO CABLE or CELL PHONE BILLS
- Rent – Submit current lease or a month-to-month lease that reflects your name, lease terms, address and signature page must be signed by the landlord and tenant along with a current utility bill or receipt for start of service for gas, water, or electric service... NO CABLE or CELL PHONE BILLS
- Sales Contracts - Those who have a contract or builder's contract (with an estimated closing date) on a home are REQUIRED to complete a Sales Contract Transfer Request form.

If you attempt to access a form and a screen appears that reads “An Unexpected Problem Has Occurred”, this means that PowerSchool Enrollment was unable to communicate adequately with your web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.)
Error Message
An Unexpected Problem Has Occurred
Cause
The communication between PowerSchool Enrollment and the web browser may be blocked by a plug-in in your web browser, the server to which your web browser is connecting, or the data that has been stored in your web browser over time.
Solution
To solve this issue, make sure that your web browser can communicate with Infosnap by following the steps below.
Resolution Steps
- Clear the browsing data from your web browser. Click on the browser name to find the instructions/steps to clear the browsing data, cookies and caches:
- Switch to a different web browser. PowerSchool Enrollment works best with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, but you can try all the browsers at your disposal!
- Attempt to access the form from a different device. If you are using a smartphone, try switching to a tablet or desktop computer.
Still Not Working?
If these steps do not help you access the form, contact your school district’s Enrollment section for further assistance.

If the “Submit” button on the Summary page is a faded-blue instead of a bright-blue, this means that there is something on the form that is preventing you from submitting it. This could be caused by a required field that is missing information or a field with information entered in an invalid format. You will need to correct these fields before you are able to submit your form.
Follow these steps to resolve:
- Navigate to the Summary page and review your form.
- Find pages with status is colored in red.
- Navigate to the pages those errors are in and edit the fields.
Details
The summary page provides a list of pages available on the form. It also indicates any missing or incorrect information on those pages. If a page has at least one error indicated, this error must be resolved in order to submit an Enrollment form.
