Welcome to 2nd grade!

Hello! My name is Abby Cantrell, and I am thrilled to be your child's 2nd grade teacher this year! This will be my 4th year teaching 2nd grade at Midtown! I was born and raised in Hazel Green, Alabama. I graduated from the University of North Alabama with both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Elementary Education. Roar Lions!

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling, exercising, and thrift store shopping! My favorite restaurant is Rosie's, hot pink is my favorite color, I love anything chocolate, and I'm a huge 7 Brew iced coffee fan! I also have an adorable gray tabby cat named Lincoln.

One of my favorite parts about teaching is building meaningful relationships with my students and watching them learn and grow each day. My goal is to create a classroom environment where all students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn! I truly value strong family partnerships and look forward to working together to support your child’s growth this year!
