District Superintendent Message 8-04-26
Dear MCS Family,
Madison City Schools reopens this Thursday, Aug. 6th, and I am looking forward to another exciting year. I am deeply grateful for the honor and the faith entrusted in me by our board, our employees and the many stakeholders across this wonderful school district and community to serve as the superintendent.
I look forward to working with all of our stakeholders for the betterment of our school district. I will strive to continue the excellence that was created when the school district was formed. I want to thank our previous superintendents–Dr. Ed Nichols, Mr. Robby Parker, Dr. Dee Fowler and Dr. Henry Clark–for the lasting impact that they have had in shaping the district.
Our theme this school year is Elevate Excellence. We will continue to focus on academic excellence, high expectations, professional growth, and celebrating achievements. Together, may we rise in unison as one community with one purpose and limitless possibilities for our school system successes.
All elementary open houses will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, Aug. 4) with the exception of Russell Branch which will be held Wednesday from 4pm-7pm. Check with your local schools for the times.
I want to thank all of the volunteers from PTA, parents, central office staff, administrators from other schools, and various athletic programs from James Clemens that came out this past Friday to assist Russell Branch teachers and staff. Your assistance was greatly appreciated and helped Russell Branch prepare for the beginning of the school year.
I am looking forward to a great school year and cannot wait to see all of our students for the first day of school on August 6th.
Elevate Excellence
Mr. Eric Terrell
Superintendent
