Hello! My name is Garyn Miller, and I am so excited to be teaching first grade this year!

I grew up in Columbia, MS and graduated from Mississippi State University in December of 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education. I believe the classroom should be a comforting and welcoming place where kids want to return because of the loving relationships built within that space. All students are capable of learning.  In order to grow academically, students will gain organizational skills, the importance of self evaluation, and awareness of meeting high, yet achievable expectations. I am so eager to begin my fifth year of teaching! 

I love taking on new challenges! I am excited to share that I am currently pursuing a master's degree in dyslexia therapy and will graduate next summer. This will allow me to better support and enhance my ability to provide specialized support to children with dyslexia. While teaching is my passion, I have other interests as well. I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, traveling, and binge-watching my favorite tv shows.
