Mrs. Julie Vandiver
My name is Julie Vandiver and I am the STEAM teacher at Columbia, Heritage, Horizon and Madison Elementary! I will be working with 4th grade students one day a week on various STEAM activities. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. This year we will be participating in engaging, hands-on projects that will get the students involved in science, technology, engineering, arts and math. We will be learning about the engineering and design process, focusing on growth mindset characteristics, as well focusing on the 4th grade science curriculum.
I have lived in Madison City since 1993, when my parents relocated here. I am a proud graduate of Liberty Middle School and Bob Jones High School. I am honored to be able to give back to the school system and community that invested so much in me. I started my teaching career at Madison Elementary in 2003 as a Kindergarten teacher. I then transferred to Harvest Elementary, where I spent 15 years. At Harvest Elementary, I taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and served as the math and science coach. This will be my fourth year as a STEAM teacher for Madison City Schools. It feels good to be back home.
I have been married to my husband, Clint, for 17 years. We have 3 sons named Aydan, Ethan and Owen. In our free time, you will most likely find us at the soccer field, football field, basketball court or just enjoying time with family and friends.
Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to work with your students!
