Mrs. Amber Moore
Hello! I am the K-2 English Language Teacher at Heritage Elementary. This is my 18th year in public education and I absolutely love teaching! Previously, I taught 5th grade and K-6th English Learners at New Market School, 1st grade at Rainbow Elementary, PreK at the Montessori School of Huntsville, and Home Economics/English Intervention at Casa Para Niños Aleluya in Guatemala. Additionally, I have worked with students in Bogota, Colombia and Berlin, Germany through several teaching fellowships. I am also a trainer for the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative.
I completed my Education Specialist degree in 2019 at the University of North Alabama in Elementary Education with a focus in Teaching English as a Second Language. I obtained my master’s degree from the University of West Alabama in 2010 and my bachelor’s degree from Athens State University in 2005. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Middle Child Generalist, a Google Certified Educator, a National Geographic Certified Educator, and a Fulbright Alumni.
My husband and I have three children and we love traveling together as a family. We are very involved in the Madison County 4-H Extension program and I chaperone 4-H camps every summer. I volunteer with Global Ties Alabama and frequently host visitors from all over the world. I also spend a lot of my time outside of school taking my children to their practices and games.
