Principal, Carmen Buchanan
Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Carmen Taylor-Tubb
I am thrilled to be the principal of Mill Creek. I began my career in education in 1993. I have served as a teacher at Liberty Middle School, an instructional partner at Liberty Middle School, an assistant principal at Liberty Middle School and James Clemens High School, and as the Coordinator of Instructional Technology for Madison City Schools. My favorite job yet is being the principal of Mill Creek.
I love learning. I am a proud co-founder and organizer of EdCampMadisonAL. My work is published in the book A+Teaching: 180 Ways to Enhance Your Success as a Teacher, in the May 2014 edition of Educational Leadership, and on the Alabama Best Practices website.
My hobbies include reading, quilting, and physical fitness. I love sports! I am married to Mark Tubb and have two sons, Taylor and Braylon. Taylor is a graduate of James Clemens High School and attends UAH. Braylon attends Liberty Middle School and enjoys playing football and basketball. Both of my sons attended Mill Creek Elementary.
