Hey there! Welcome to 5th grade ELA. It is going to be a great year!  Just a little bit about me.... I have been teaching since 1992 and have taught various grades in 3 different states. I originally started as a teacher for deaf and hard of hearing students, and I am fluent in sign language.  I am originally from Florida and have lived in several states and even Germany.   I moved to Madison in 2010 and joined the staff at Horizon.  I have taught 3rd, 4th and now 5th grade...which is definitely my favorite.   Since I am not originally from Alabama, you won't ever hear me yelling, "Roll Tide" or "War Eagle"...especially since I graduated from the University of TN.  GO VOLS!

I am married to Blair and the mother of 2 non-stop boys, Will and Drew.  Will graduated last year from Bob Jones and Drew is an 8th grader at Discovery.  We also have an Old English Sheepdog named Wilson.  When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, traveling, art festivals, live music and working out.
