    CHILD NUTRITION 

    The Madison City School System will be continuing with the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year. Meals are planned by a Registered Dietitian and comply with standards set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture. The Madison City School Board encourages all students to support the school lunch program by purchasing a school-made meal each day. This site contains information designed to make this process simple and convenient.

    The Madison City School System participates in the Offer vs. Serve program. All students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade shall be permitted to decline any one of the four items offered at breakfast; however, every student must select a fruit or fruit juice. Students may decline two of the five items offered at lunch; however, every student must select a fruit or a vegetable.

    If your student qualified for free or reduced-priced meals in Madison City Schools during the 2023-2024 school year, they will receive the same eligibility for the first 30 school days, ending on September 12, 2024, of the 2024-2025 school year. If you do not reapply for Free and Reduced Meals, your student will return to Paid Meals on September 12, 2024. We will begin accepting new applications for the 2024-2025 school year on July 1, 2024. More information about the Free and Reduced program can be found here.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
