You are receiving this email as a custodial parent of a Madison City School student. As part of Madison City Schools, we use the Parent Portal for various reasons throughout the school year. 

The purpose of this email is to provide the information needed to access your Parent Portal account even if you are locked out or can't remember your password. Use the username and temporary password provided below. Please follow the onscreen prompts for changing the Temporary Password.

INSTRUCTIONS:
 1) Open an internet browser on your computer.
 2) Type http://madisoncs.powerschool.com/public into the address bar.
 3) Type in your username and temporary password.

     Username: {{username}}
     Temporary Password: {{password}}

 4) To change your password, re-enter the password as you see listed above
 5) Then enter a new password.
    
      New password must:

• Be at least 8 characters long
• Contain at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
• Contain at least one letter and one number
• Contain at least one special character
• Not be a well known password

 6) Re-enter new password one more time.

Also know that the Parent Portal will display fees owed, lunch balance, student grades, assignments, schedule, an forms that will need to be filled out in the future.  Some schools may also use this to keep you informed of important dates.  The portal is also where you will need to go to access each child's re-enrollment for the next school year.

Five failed login attempts will cause the system to lock your account.

During the school year, you may want to use the mobile app to monitor grades and attendance.  Once you download the PowerSchool App on your device, use the District Code to login. Our code is: ＲＪＮＳ

When resetting your password, use a web browser on your phone or a desktop/laptop computer.
