Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Elizabeth Woodard

My name is Beth Woodard, and I am the gifted specialist at Madison Elementary School. I received a Bachelor’s of Science in 1997 from Tennessee Technological University. In 2017, I obtained my Masters in Gifted Education from Samford University. I earned National Board Certification in 2021. I am currently certified to teach general education in grades 1-8 and gifted education in grades K-12. I also have Highly Qualified status as a teacher in the state of Alabama for grades 1-6.

My teaching career began in the state of Virginia where I spent two years teaching 6th and 4th grades in Fredericksburg City Schools. After staying home with my boys for ten years, I returned to teaching in 2009 with Madison City Schools at Madison Elementary where I spent 6 years teaching 4th grade. In 2015, I accepted a position as a Gifted Specialist with Heritage and Rainbow Elementary Schools. In 2016, I returned to Madison Elementary as the full time Gifted Specialist.

On a personal level, I have been married to my husband Keith since 1997. We are currently enjoying the empty nesting stage of life with our adult children away at college. We have two small dogs named Luna and Mosley. My hobbies include gardening, sewing, watching movies, and traveling. I love spending time in our MES outdoor classroom and working with students to expand and grow our school gardens!
