The Chess Team is a team for students who are ready to compete in chess events. Students joining chess team should already have knowledge of how to play chess and are committing to attend the team competitions scheduled on Saturdays throughout the school year. The Madison Elementary Tournament Team is open to all students (K-6) with already developed chess skills. Chess Team will meet weekly to practice chess skills and to prepare for competitions. It will meet from 4:15-5:15  after school on Tuesdays. A chess coach will be present at the school to coach students on competitive play, rules, and regulations. If your child becomes a member of this team, they will have to commit to play in at least 3-4 tournaments.

Tournament registration and information can be found at Madison City Chess League.
