I am a Huntsville native, but have lived in Madison for over thirty years.   I began my teaching career at West Madison Elementary in 1992, when Madison was part of the Madison County School system. When Horizon was built, I moved to Madison Elementary.  I have also taught at Rainbow and Mill Creek.  With the exception of the seven years I took off to stay home with my children, I've enjoyed over twenty years teaching in Madison schools.  My husband, Tom Ballard, is an Electrical Engineer at ADTRAN.  We have two children and a dog named Jolene (JoJo).  My children, Thomas and Kate, both attended Rainbow Elementary, Discovery Middle, and  Bob Jones.  Kate will be a sophomore next year at Auburn, majoring in Environmental Design.  Thomas will begin his junior year at UAB and also plays baseball for the Blazers.  His major is Kinesiology and he hopes to get accepted to dental school upon graduation.  

In my free time, I enjoy reading and spending time outdoors and love all things animals and nature!
