I am a Huntsville native, but have lived in Madison for over thirty years.   I began my teaching career at West Madison Elementary in 1992, when Madison was part of the Madison County School system. When Horizon was built, I moved to Madison Elementary.  I have also taught at Rainbow and Mill Creek.  With the exception of the seven years I took off to stay home with my children, I've enjoyed over twenty years teaching in Madison schools.  My husband, Tom Ballard, is an Electrical Engineer at ADTRAN.  We have two children and a dog named Sammy.  My children, Thomas and Kate, both attended Rainbow Elementary, Discovery Middle, and  Bob Jones.  Kate graduated from high school last year and will attend Auburn in the fall.  Thomas will begin his second year at UAB and also plays baseball.
