Laverne Williams is the new Chief School Finance Officer for Madison City Schools. Ms. Williams worked as Interim CSFO for MCS following the departure in March of Jana Gray, who accepted a position at Athens State University.
She came to MCS as an assistant CSFO last year after serving as CSFO for the Chilton County Board of Education since Jan. 2017. Prior to that, she held a number of accounting, audit, budget manager jobs mostly for state agencies in Montgomery including the Department of Education, Transportation and CNP programs, and a bank dating back to 1999.
