    Mission Statement

     

    The mission of the Rainbow Elementary School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program that will assist all students in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers, and lifelong learners in a diverse and changing world.

     

    Vision Statement

     

    The vision of the Rainbow Elementary School Counseling program is to ensure that all students embrace their value and will leave our school with the necessary interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills to allow them to meet and overcome challenges as they become leaders of a diverse and global workforce.

    School Counselors Help... 

    * Promote positive attitudes among students towards self, family, peers, and community.
    * Assist students in learning how school performance relates to future opportunities.
    * Develop and deliver classroom guidance lessons that teach skills such as decision-making, resolving conflict, and respecting others.
    * Work with students, parents, and school staff to identify learning needs and to design interventions to enhance student success.
    * Help students to recognize and make the best of their abilities.
    * Provide support during a personal crisis.

  • HOW CAN STUDENTS SEE THE COUNSELOR?

    Students can fill out a self-referral form outside the counselor's office. Students may also meet with the counselor if their parent, teacher, or administrative staff refer them to see a counselor.
