Hello! My name is Rachel Nelson. I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2015 with a degree from the Multiple Abilities Program which certified me in both General and Special Education K-6. I then pursued my Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I taught first grade and PreK at a school in Decatur after I graduated from Alabama. I am thrilled to now be teaching Kindergarten here at Rainbow Elementary School. I try my best to create a classroom where we can all consider each other a family. I believe in creating relationships, challenging students to achieve goals, and encouraging them along the way.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, participating in my local church, cheering on the Tide, and loving on my pets-- Zooey and Lyla. Let's make this year the best yet!
