Mrs. Alicia Smith

Hello everyone! 

My name is Alicia Smith, and I am proud to serve as your School Counselor here at Rainbow Elementary School. This is my 7th year at Rainbow, and I truly love being part of the RES family! My role as a school counselor is both rewarding and inspiring, and I look forward to continuing to support our amazing students, families, faculty, and staff.

As your school counselor, I am committed to providing comprehensive support services that enhance students’ academic, social/emotional, and college and career development. The goal of Rainbow’s School Counseling Program is to ensure every student develops the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for academic success, emotional well-being, and lifelong learning.

Throughout the school year, I will offer a variety of services for students, parents, and families, including:

  • Community Referrals and Resources

  • Conflict Mediation

  • Consultation and Collaboration

  • Crisis Intervention

  • Positive Behavior Support

  • PATH Classroom Lessons

  • Short-Term Individual Counseling

  • Short-Term Group Counseling

  • Parent/Student Workshops and Lunch Bunches

  • Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education – Alabama State University

  • Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology – Troy University

  • ALSDE Class A – School Counselor (050), Grades P–12

  • ALSDE Class A – Elementary Education (75A), Grades K–6

  • National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) – School Counseling
