Mrs. Nina Allen
Nina Allen is a native of Alabama, the wife of retired Chief Warrant Officer Allen, and the mother of four children. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Troy State University, a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education, and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction.
Mrs. Allen began her professional career with the United States Army Department of Defense as a Teacher Lead for Child and Youth School-age Services. In her six years with the DOD Child and School-age Services, CYSS, she served as a Pre-K teacher, an Education Technician for CYSS Child Development Center, an Educational Trainer for the CYSS Child and Development Center/CYSS Youth Center, and eventually became the Assistant Director of the CYSS Child Development Center and Youth Services (teen center).
In 2006, Mrs. Allen began teaching in the private sector, as a Pre-K4 teacher, in Alabama. She returned to public education in 2009 as a First-grade teacher in Fort Riley, Kansas. In August 2011, Mrs. Allen began working for Killeen Independent School district in Killeen, Texas. During her time with KISD, she taught fourth grade, sixth, seventh, eighth grade math and was promoted to a Curriculum Instruction Specialist for Killen ISD until the end of September 2018. In late September 2018, Mrs. Allen returned to Alabama to become a Fifth Grade Math Teacher with Madison City Schools.
Mrs. Allen strives to build strong relationships between students, parents, and her school to enhance a strong parent-teacher engagement and increase student engagement. Mrs. Allen believes in teaching so that students can learn to their maximum potential. She will provide a full, innovative, rigorous, safe, fun, and comprehensive learning experience for her students.
Mrs. Allen’s favorite quote states, "If a child can't learn the way we teach, we should teach the way they learn". Nina believes in raising the bar for her students, while providing them with effective guidance to achieve their educational and personal goals. It truly takes a village to raise the bar, striving for excellence, one child at a time!
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family watching football.
